Dahlia Sylvia is an attractive Pom Pom variety, which produces intricate flowerheads in shades of soft orange. Due to its long stems, this variety is great for use in cut flower arrangements.It works well if grown in a pot, but also is successful when grown as part of a border display. The orange hue of the flowerheads provides a striking contrast when planted next to complementary coloured plants, and also adds structure and interest to your display.Ideally plant in a sunny garden border, bed or patio pot in a sheltered position. When the plant is in full flower it can be cut for an excellent cut flower display. Height 90cm. Plant after frost, Dahlias are not frost tolerant.To ensure you can enjoy your plants in future years, and in areas where there is extreme cold, lift tubers and store in potting compost over the winter. Apply a high potash fertiliser every few weeks in the summer to help growth. Dead head when necessary.
